Free Neuro Assessment (Brain Map)*

You will recieve an EEG cap and have access to the Mindbrite app. When you receive the EEG cap, you will reach out to us to schedule an assessment with a neuro coach. The session will be around 30 minutes long. Afterwards, you’ll return the EEG device back to Mindbrite.

The idea that the brain can change its own structure and function through thought and activity is, I believe, the most important alteration in our view of the brain since we first sketched out its basic anatomy and the working of its baric component, the neuron.

What is Neurofeedback, and What Does a Typical Session Look Like?

Neurofeedback, also known as EEG biofeedback, is an innovative, non-invasive, and drug-free therapy that is used to treat a variety of neurological and psychological challenges.

In a typical session, small sensors are placed on your scalp through a special cap or headband to measure electrical activity in your brain. This data is then fed into a specialized software that provides visual or auditory feedback based on your brain waves. You might watch a video that brightens when your brain is calm and focused, or hear a tone when it drifts into stress. Through this gentle, reward-based process, your brain learns to adjust its patterns naturally — all you have to do is sit back and watch your favorite show or movie, or play a fun mobile game.

What is Neuroplasticity, and How Does It Respond to Neurofeedback?

Neuroplasticity is your brain’s remarkable ability to reorganize itself by forming new neural connections throughout life. It’s how we learn, adapt to challenges, and recover from trauma.

Neurofeedback harnesses this power by providing your brain with immediate feedback, guiding it to strengthen helpful pathways (like focus or relaxation) and weaken unhelpful ones (like anxiety or distraction). Think of it as a workout for your brain; each session builds on the last, rewiring patterns for lasting change.

What is a neuro assessment?

A neuro assessment records your brain’s electrical activity across multiple scalp locations and compares it to a clinical database. This analysis highlights areas of over- or under-activity, giving us a detailed picture of how your brain operates and allowing us to create a personalized neurofeedback plan.

Using a neuro assessment, our neuro coaches identify imbalances, such as excessive beta in anxiety or insufficient alpha in poor relaxation, and they design a tailored training protocol to address them. This precision ensures your neurofeedback sessions target the root of your challenges.

Just as a weather map can predict storm patterns, a neuro assessment highlights neurological patterns that may impact a patient’s well-being.

Different areas of the brain have different functional “weather patterns” that can be sub-optimal. A neuro assessment reveals these “weather patterns” and guides the neurofeedback process by matching these patterns with personalized training protocols.

What Are Brain Waves?

Brain waves, rhythmic electrical patterns measured by neuro assessment, are the mind’s symphony, each frequency band playing a distinct role in cognition, emotion, and behavior.

Neurofeedback harnesses these waves, regulating their amplitude, distribution, and coherence to optimize function. Understanding their types, functions, and how they’re shaped offers clinicians a lens into the brain’s language and neurofeedback’s transformative power.

Resources

Your brain produces different types of waves, each linked to specific mental states:

  • Delta (0.5-4 Hz) – Dominant during deep sleep and healing
  • Theta (4-8 Hz) – Linked to drowsiness and creativity; excess can mean inattention
  • Alpha (8-12 Hz) – Reflects a relaxed, calm state; key for restful alertness
  • Beta (12-30 Hz) – Drives focus and problem-solving; too much can cause anxiety
  • Gamma (30+ Hz) – Tied to peak performance and sharp cognition
